About OPTHARA

Ocean Parade Towers Homeowners and Residents Association (OPTHARA) is the community body representing the collective interests of homeowners and residents of Ocean Parade Towers, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Our Association was established to support a safe, well-managed, and harmonious living environment for everyone who calls Ocean Parade Towers home. Through OPTHARA, residents work together to protect the quality of life within the estate, maintain shared facilities, and ensure that the collective interests of the community are represented when engaging with service providers, estate management, and relevant authorities.

At its core, OPTHARA exists to promote responsible community living, cooperation among residents, and the proper stewardship of our shared environment.

Our Role

  • Supporting the proper maintenance and improvement of common facilities and infrastructure
  • Encouraging security, safety, sanitation, and responsible community living
  • Representing the collective interests of homeowners and residents in engagements with relevant stakeholders

OPTHARA operates as a non-profit and non-political association established to serve the long-term interests of the Ocean Parade Towers community.

Governance

The Association is governed by a Board of Trustees, whose members are longstanding homeowners and current residents of Ocean Parade Towers.

The Trustees have been entrusted with overseeing the affairs of the Association during its formative phase and ensuring that the necessary governance structures are properly established.

In accordance with the registered constitutional framework of the Association, the Trustees will continue to guide the Association until elections are conducted for executive offices, at which time leadership will transition to the elected executive body.

Purpose-driven estate leadership

OPTHARA is established to support good governance, promote order, strengthen community wellbeing, and ensure the proper administration and development of the estate.

Promote and protect the common interests, rights, and welfare of homeowners and residents within the Estate.

Ensure the proper management, maintenance, and improvement of common areas, facilities, infrastructure, and amenities within the Estate.

Promote security, safety, environmental sanitation, and public health within the Estate.

Establish and enforce rules, regulations, and guidelines for the orderly use and enjoyment of the Estate and its common facilities.

Foster peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and cooperation among residents and resolve disputes amicably where they arise.

Represent the collective interests of members in engagements with government authorities, developers, utility providers, and other relevant stakeholders.

Raise, manage, and apply funds through levies, dues, subscriptions, donations, or other lawful means for the achievement of the Association’s aims and objectives.

Promote community development initiatives, social interaction, and collective responsibility among members.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies relating to property management, environmental protection, and community governance.

Do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above aims and objectives.
